We met on Hinge in April 2019. Veronica was working in the art world, Spencer, a designer, both living in New York. Veronica, feeling cheeky sent the first message: “Wanna flirt?” which caught Spencer’s attention. After a week of texting, we met in person at Owl Farm, a dog-friendly bar in South Slope, Brooklyn. The conversation was easy, and it felt like we’d known each other forever. Veronica swiped a bottle opener from the bar to show off. (It lives in our kitchen drawer to this day.)

Things clicked fast. By our third date, we were off the apps and all in.

Since then, we’ve spent the last six years building a life together in Brooklyn: three apartments, lots of travel for food and wine, plenty of tasty meals, and a handful of very loved houseplants and shared video games later. We love seeing art, being outside, cooking and eating good food, playing music, and hanging with our cats, Basil and Marc (reluctant roommates turned low-key besties).

As you might know, we didn’t do a traditional proposal, we decided together that it was the right time to get engaged. The very next day, Spencer surprised Veronica with an insanely awesome vintage family ring (thank you great-grandma, Blanche!) which made it all the more special.

We can’t wait to get married, travel together, and eventually start a new chapter outside the city. Wherever life takes us, we’re in it together. And we’re really excited for what’s next.
